WHAT DO YOU ASSOCIATE WITH HOTEL MOTTO VIENNA?

Sophistication, attention to detail, a great menu, my favorite drinks and a friendship with Bernd Schlacher.

YOU'RE A MOTTO FRIEND, WHAT CONNECTS YOU WITH US?

In addition to our friendship, I also have great admiration for Bernd Schlacher. The house is simply perfect from top to bottom! Every air vent is made of brass and that is simply fascinating for me. The door handles, the furnishings in the rooms, the choice of glasses, right down to the mocha spoon, everything really is made of one piece. There is nothing that I don't like and I can rarely say that about a hotel – anywhere in the world. What also connects us is the team uniform, which was designed by me and the great people, who I was able to get to know better as part of our collaboration.

WHAT 5 INSIDER TIPS FOR VIENNA DO YOU HAVE FOR OUR HOTEL MOTTO GUESTS?

In the MOTTO bakery you can pick up an almond croissant and a very, very good coffee to go. If you walk along Mariahilfer Straße, you'll come to a long-established brush and bathroom accessories store, one of the few that still exists in Vienna – Walter Weiss. They sell bath sponges, horn combs and the most beautiful nail cases – I love specialist stores. Of course you can order everything online, but there are so few of these stores left that I think it's really important not only to visit them, but also to buy something there, especially if you want them to survive. Altmann & Kühne is also always a must for me. Seilergasse is home to one of the few monobrand stores, the Lena Hoschek flagship store, which is also well worth a visit. I also really like the little café on Franziskanerplatz.
